【Course description】
This is a master level course for science and engineering students. It intends to provide an introductory knowledge of superconductivity as well as an overview of the cutting-edge research and applications. The contents include the history, the basic properties and theoretical understandings of superconductivity. The theoretical treatment starts with the phenomenological London theory and Ginzburg-Landau approach and is followed by the microscopic theory of superconductivity (BCS theory). We also introduce high-Tc superconductors and its applications.
This course follows the Master’s curriculum policies 1 and 2, which is to develop a clear vision of environmental science and engineering from the aspects of natural sciences and provide the hands-on knowledge of the cutting-edge technology on environmental sciences and engineering.
