Comparison of Yotsuya Campus Electricity/Gas Usage – FY2022 vs. FY2023

Compared to FY2022, Yotsuya Campus overall electricity usage increased by +2.8%, and for gas, +6.4%. Comparing the same month of October, there was a sharp increase in energy usage: +6.7% increase for electricity and +26.8% increase for gas.

This spike in energy use can be attributed to the record-breaking heat this summer, which led to an increase in the use of air conditioning.

This winter, although there is no government mandate, your continued cooperation in saving energy is essential for combatting global warming!

Here is the winter energy-saving check list:

(1) Setting of the heating at around 18°C to keep the room temperature at 20°C.

(2) Consider wearing warm clothing, layering can help you stay comfortable in low temperatures.

(2) During the daytime, let outside sunlight in and turn on the lights when necessary.

(3) Turn off the lights, electronic equipment such as PCs and main power supply when leaving a room (classroom, office, etc.).

(4) If possible, use the stairs when moving between floors.

This winter, let’s work hard to reduce our energy consumption. Every action matters and every action makes a difference in combatting global warming!

Note: Please cooperate to the extent that it does not interfere with your well-being, education and research.
