【Comparing gas usage of last year’s and this year’s electricity/gas usage @Yotsuya Campus】

Face-to-face classes have been started this year, but in October of last year, many non-face-to-face classes were also programmed. As a result, electricity consumption at Yotsuya Campus this year increased by 4.8% over the previous year, and gas consumption increased by 15.4% over the previous year.

From December 1 to March 31, Japanese government requests electricity conservation. Electricity supply capacity in the TEPCO service area this winter has been more difficult than usual due to power plant trouble shutdowns. In addition, international fuel prices remain high due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and also the situation surrounding fuel is unpredictable.

Please save electricity to the extent that it does not interfere with education, research, and prevention of infectious diseases (=ventilation). Power-saving actions include “turning off unnecessary lights” and “setting the heating temperature at 20°C (68°F).
